Parent training is an important part of any ABA therapy program. The ultimate goal for every child is to help them reach their fullest potential at the center and beyond. The majority of their life happens outside of Centerpiece LLC. The training aims to help every family learn the skills that they need to keep their child successful at home and in the community.
Families may be asked to attend required training sessions. Parents may also request training sessions. In some cases, parent training is required by the funding agency. In those cases, attendance is required and failure to comply with parent training sessions can result in the funding agency declining future services or dismissal from the program.
The amount of parent training that is needed or recommended varies. A typical parent training session lasts one hour and is separate from any progress review meetings or daily updates with staff.
